I remember reading once that you're more productive if you put shoes on in the morning, even if you're not going anywhere, you're less likely to blob around. I know that doesn't actually work but I do it anyway :-)

When I posted that with this pullquote:

“At the playground, I like to chat with other parents,” Mindy Stricke, a mom and photographer, says while her toddler climbs on the play structure in sight, but well out of reach. “I don’t want to be hovering, it’s totally boring for me. But I am hyper-aware that people are looking at me for being so far away.” She sighs. “I want to be a good mother. But I’ll be honest, I am also kind of lazy. I want a life.”

- I was struck that she equated "not hovering" to not being a good mother, "kind of lazy" and "want[ing] a life".

Ugh! These diets are all the rage. My mom and sister both converted from the last few years of lactose-free diets to gluten-free diets. I think the whole thing is a fad and it drives me nuts. That said, I've dealt with the cassien-free diet for infant reflux and I feel your pain! We learned a lot of Japanese cooking those years.

excellent idea...i've kept a notebook over the years, detailing the silly adventures, accidents, etc. of the miniblondes....when i read back, i'm always surprised at the things i've forgotten. and as they get older, they seem fascinated to learn every detail! keep it up.

And I found myself wondering, will the door really open? Or is it all some sort of ruse? A moment later, my question was answered, much to my satisfaction. BRAVO!
