Welcome to Blue Duck Valley road, Michael Hope's minimalist web page

This is an older, archived version. My current page is here.

Contains little at the moment, except...
pds-0.1 - A serial sniffer/forwarder. Used to break the Royal Davinci protocol WIN32 source
hacking-dav-0.1 - Notes on the Royal Davinci serial protocol text
rrgb-0.35 - A rough 'n ready processor only Gameboy emulator and debugger source
"An introduction to SGML for those who just want to use it rev2" html | sgml | pdf | other
The GBDK documentation is now available through The GBDK homepage.
Michaels "Thought for the day" from early June 98 (wow)html
rrgb-0.35 - A rough 'n ready processor only Gameboy emulator and debugger source
sprog-1.1 - A PIC based serial port Flash ROM programmer. Includes source code, PCB, and schematics. source
minilzo-gb-0.21 - Routines to decompress lzo format data on the Gameboy source
lzocomp-0.21 - Compressor for minilzo-gb, includes minilzo 1.04 source source | DOS | Linux
maccer-0.25 - A simple macro preprocessor for asz80 and GBDK
maccer can now include binary and Intel IHX format files, and has support for the 'jas' Z80 assembler.
source | DOS | Linux
ultraset-fonts-0.1 - A set of about 20 8x8 bitmap fonts derived from MFXJ Oberhumer's Ultraset. source
dez80-0.1.tar.gz - Simple utility that decompresses .z80 ZX Spectrum snapshot images. source
maptosym-0.11 - convert GBDK 2.0b13 .map files to no$gmb symbolic (.sym) files
Note that the linker in GBDK 2.0.16 and above can generate .sym files directly with the '-j' option.
source | DOS | Linux
kbd_mac-0.1 - Port of Jeff's external scan routines to GBDK source | binary
ui-0.12 and metro-0.12 - simple user interface (buttons, windows, sliders) for the GameBoy and an example program.
The sound now works correctly on a real GB.
source
numtoword-0.1 - silly little program that tries to turn a phone number into a word number (e.g. 555-KITTYPORN). source
astorgb.awk - very simple AWK script to translate GBDK assembler files into something similar to RGBDS format. source
astro-0.11 - planetarium for the Gameboy. Hasn't been tested in the Northern Hemisphere :). source
os-tcp-0.13 - alpha TCP/IP/ICMP stack designed for smaller processors.
os-tcp supports both SLIP and PPP links, and has a simple pop-3 mail checker as a demo.
source
os-0.22 - Alpha version of a installable file system for the GB including a ROMFS and read/write MSDOS support source
Demo containing rrgb, os-0.21.gb, os.map and a 16MB test MSDOS file system
To run it, type rrgb os.gb huge.msdos
Linux | Win95/NT
Please note that SGML format files wont show properly under Netscape - you'll have to save them :) Also for unknown reasons none of the references in the printed (rtf, pdf, ps or TeX) versions work.

'os' only supports MSDOS FAT16 drives which means big (>5MB?) disks. I use rrgb to map a hard drive in, but rrgb is not for the faint hearted... Try the demo if you want to see it working.

If your using Windows, you may want to get WinZip to decompress the .tar.gz files. Netscape also has a bug which can mess up the download of .gz files - try GetItRight or similar from Tucows

And I finally have links! Guaranteed to be broken! But you do get what you pay for :)
